Chris Evans gives Captain America Civil War plot details…..

Captain-America-Civil-War-Iron-Man-vs-Steve-Rogers (1)The third solo film in the Captain America franchise, titled Captain America: Civil War, explores the recent 2006-07 Civil War comic book story arc. The film is shaping up to be the battle of the century, pitting hero against hero – even Avenger against Avenger. It’s far more complicated than good vs evil, according to Captain America star Chris Evans, who asserts that there is no clear good or bad side.

At the recent Salt Lake Comic Con Chris Evens (Captian America) shared his thoughts on the upcoming film…

“Tony actually thinks we should be signing these accords and reporting to somebody and Cap, who’s always been a company man and has always been a soldier, actually doesn’t trust anymore. Given what happened in Cap 2, I think he kind of feels the safest hands are his own. And these are understandable concerns, but this is tough, because even reading the script, you think ‘I think I agree with Tony in a way,’ and I do agree that to make this work, you do need to surrender to the group. It can’t just be one person saying this is right and this is what we’re going to do.”

“But Cap has his reasons, he certainly has his reasons, and he is a good man and his moral compass is probably the cleanest. This is a tough thing. This is what made it so interesting while we were filming, and it’s hopefully what will make the movie great is nobody’s right, nobody’s wrong. There’s no clear bad guy here. We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics.”

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters May 6, 2016; Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man – July 28, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Black Panther – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – November 2, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; Inhumans – July 12, 2019.

Wolverine 3 update

Professor-X-Patrick-Stewart-Talks-Wolverine-3Wolverine 3 is already set to begin filming in early 2016, with Mangold, Jackman, and Patrick Stewart all on board for the new feature. In past films of the X-Men franchise, the relationship between Wolverine and Professor X has always bordered on a sort of familial intimacy.3.
In a recent interview with Collider, Jackman spoke as to the creative direction Wolverine 3 is taking. Although the script is only partially completed, the actor had plenty to say regarding Stewart’s importance in the new film, stating:
“Patrick does figure in it, that’s for sure. I think it’s a really important relationship, but I want to see signs of that quasi-father/son sort of relationship that has not been seen before, and sides of particularly Professor X that have not been seen before. So we have some really, really cool ideas.“
“The ultimate plan is let’s start shooting next year… I’m starting the training, I’m starting the eating and mentally really preparing for it. It’s not just me, [but] the studio as well, [and] I’m trying to do something with this that’s a little special, a little different. I’ve got a very, very strong idea of what that is. I really have known for quite a long time how I want to finish this sort of odyssey that I’ve been on, this amazing journey, and I won’t let it fall anywhere in between. I won’t fall short of it.“

Review: Fantastic Four

Fantastic-Four-Reboot-Promo-Team-Photo-TextlessFinally deciding to actually pay and go see the newest incarnation of marvel’s “First Family” was kinda like finally watching Human Centipede first sequence.

….Ok I guess that statement requires a bit of explanation.  Both film were and are infamous for being utterly destroyed by both critics and audience alike. The noise and fury of the hatred and disgust is wildly overwhelming and somewhat misplaced. In both cases I was severly apprehensive to watch the either films due to the deluge each film got in terms of negativity which served to pre-determine my mindset going into the experiance.  But then again most people cannot think outside their little matchbook sized box of thinking, but I digress.

In the end, all things being equal, both Fantastic Four and Human Centipede first sequence are not good films but also are not as horrible as you might imagine.  The disgust and shock is all in your head.

Anyway….

While I very much prefered this “version” of the Fantastic Four when compared against the first attempt and or its sequel, it is not the best but easily not the worst superhero film I have seen, that distinction would have to go to either, Dardevil, Catwoman or maybe Hulk or the first transformers movie… take your pick.

But I cannot deny the effort of  Fantastic Four’s well meaning attempt, if for no other reason than the special effects were decent, and with all the other superhero movies so far it was fun to try and discover all the hidden easter eggs and try and make connection to other films (Like the main scientist is the same actor who portrayed Mr Blue in Incredible Hulk? not sure if that was just a casting coincidence or a connection

Not to say there were not major flaws in the movie mostly pacing, they should have cut out all the backstories entirely and started in the middle  so  even though yes the first forty minutes of the film were boring as hell and completely drawn out and  the following fifty minute are muddled as far as the storyline is concerned and yes the villain (Dr Doom)  does not appear in the film until the last twenty minutes. Despite all that and in spite of my convictions, I feel comfortable in saying At first I got caught up in the mass hysteria of judgment and condemnation for something that was not as nearly as bad as the fear mongers had described.

Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) gives update on Captain America Civil War

Scarlet-Witch-Avengers-2In a recent interview with Premiere.fr (via CBM), Olsen herself teased what fans can expect from Captain America Civil War and what she most enjoys about her character.

“[Scarlet Witch is] someone who’s more powerful than she’s able to control and she ends up going insane because of it. And she’s like a wildcard. You never know [if] she’s a hero or a villain, and that’s a very fun part. … I think [Captain America: Civil War is] going to be the best one. For real, I am very excited to see it myself. I only worked on set for five weeks. So I wasn’t there for the majority of it.”

“[Daniel] Brühl is an incredible actor and he’s playing the main villain( Baron Zemo) in it. And he’s incredible! It’s a movie about people as opposed to robots this time. So it’s darker and it’s allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans rather than machines.”

“Being part of a Marvel movie makes me feel like I’m doing the most top secret thing in the world. It’s ridiculous because it’s a film, but also it’s too bad when people want to spoil things about movies or paparazzi are on set taking pictures of certain things. And everyone then gets to guess what it is that you’re filming. And it ruins it for everyone. It just so happens that in Avengers [Age of Ultron] we were able to keep a lot of things secret so there were surprises for the audience which is great.”

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters May 6, 2016; Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man – July 28, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Black Panther – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – November 2, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; Inhumans – July 12, 2019.

X-men Apocalypse update details on title villian

xmen apocylpseSpeaking with IGN, regarding the title namesake of the egerly anticipated X-men Apocalypse, script writer Michael Dougherty gave his own description of Apocalypse, detailing why viewers will empathize with the all-powerful antagonist:

“The idea that he sort of comes from a world where things might have been reversed, where mutants weren’t a persecuted minority, that there was a period where they were considered supernatural deities, it’s a fascinating premise. And what happens when that character, in sort of a Rip Van Winkle fashion, enters our world… it made that character not just a big guy hellbent on world domination, but it gave him a heart that I think we can all relate to.”x-men-apocalypse-characters (1)Singer has gone on record to say that this film will mark the “true birth of the X-Men,” rebooting the universe and giving the series a fresh start. Dougherty seems to agree, but indicated that the writers aren’t worried about future films just yet:

“We actually didn’t talk that much about where things are going to head… We were really focused on just laying the groundwork for this film. And knowing that of course you’re going to have an ending that opens itself up to more exploration. The X-Men universe is sort of built for that. It’s built for growth.”

Star Wars the Force Awakens will be the best yet?

Star-Wars-Episode-7-Title-Force-Awakens-LogoMovie Weekly recently caught up with Drew Struzan, who has famously provided poster art for each Star Wars film dating back to the 1997 rerelease of the original trilogy. He recently returned to the franchise to create a special Star Wars The Force Awakens poster for Disney’s D23 Expo and has now shared his thoughts on Abrams’ film. Here’s what he had to say:  “I’ve never worked with J.J before and so we started working on it and he showed me like half the movie and it was just… a wonderful film and I know it’s going to be grand. I got to read the script and subsequently I’ve seen half of it and I can tell you and the fans this, Honest to God, it is far and away probably going to be the best Star Wars you’ve ever seen. … Well, it’s beautifully made and it’s a wonderful story. … To me, [the new poster] represents the film. The spirit of the film, the new characters, the battle again to find the truth, to grow up, to find the purpose in life. It’s all those things that Star Wars had to be and is still. And I hope to represent that again to a new generation.”

Patrick Stewart talks about professor X and Wolverine 3

Professor-X-Patrick-Stewart-Talks-Wolverine-3Patrick Stewart reportedly visited the set of X-Men: Apocalypse and is rumored to have a cameo, or even if it’s just a post-credits sequence appearance It is still interesting.  He talked about Wolverine 3 here is what he said

“They are in the middle of filming. I went up to pay them a visit in Montreal a couple of weeks ago… the next X-Men movie, but that will be inhabited by Jennifer Lawrence and Michael fassBender and James Mcavoy. The X’s, not Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart. Um, but there is I am told a Wolverine movie in development that would include Charles Xavier, but in a very different Charles Xavier than the one we have seen before. And I don’t quite know what that means, but I am very very excited about it. I love Hugh and I love working with him and James Mangold I believe is set to direct and he is terrific so we shall see.”x-men-apocalypse-characters (1)When asked if Wolverine 3 could close the chapter on the original X-Men universe Stewart remained coy but did express his desire to continue playing Xavier in the films.

“Oh, yeah I love being in those movies. I feel… I am very passionate about the X-Men movies and unlike Star Trek, where I was Captain of the Enterprise, but someone had already been captain of the Enterprise before me, William Shatner. Um, but well I created Professor X and now James is taking it over and he is wonderful so flattering to have him as a youthful me. Everybody associated with that project, they are fantastic… the actors, the crew and the directors and now that Singer is back directing it because the first two were wonderful movies. Yeah, I would go happy into old age doing more X-Men, but something tells me from what I read that Hugh said it may be over soon. I don’t know what the studio will think about that. We’ll see. He’s a terrific character, but I am looking forward to… if what I have been told is true… to a different version of Charles. We shall see.”

Batman vs Superman General Zod details

When Michael Shannon spoke to Variety, he revealed his role in Batman vs Superman consists of more than just being spotted as a corpse – he’ll undergo a transformation of some kind.
“I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands.”
“So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the f*** is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!”

Dr Strange update

Dr_StrangeDr Strange is one of the upcoming marvel films I am really looking forward to, beacuse unlike most all the previous movies which has used science as its grounding for the superhero aspect, Dr Strange is completely, supernatural themed, filled with spells and magic and cosmic beings.

In an interview with Screen Daily (via CBM), cinematographer Ben Davis – who previously worked on both Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron – confirmed he will be working on Doctor Strange, and offered up some details on the look of the film.

Davis first stated that Doctor Strange “has a very psychedelic grounding,” before going on to add that “it’s not your typical Marvel action movie.” In fact, it’s so different that Davis went onto call it the “Fantasia” of the MCU:

“Most of the work within it is about other dimensions. And I described it, I think, when I was talking to Marvel as Marvel’s Fantasia, in a way, because it’s so sort of out there and different to everything else that they’ve done.”There’s a lot of previsualisation, and there’s a lot of work which is very hard – you look at it and you see the imagery that they’ve created for it and you think, ‘well how the hell do we shoot that!?’ because it’s all sort of Escher stuff.”

New Batman trilogy in the works…?

Deadline is reporting that WB pushed back the release dates for two new Affleck vehicles: his next directorial outing, Live by Night, has been pushed back from its initial October 7, 2016 debut to an unspecified point in 2017, while The Accountant (directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Affleck) has taken Live by Night‘s most recent spot (having previously been set to arrive on January 29, 2016).

In a separate report, Den of Geek is claiming that WB delaying the two films stems from the studio’s desire to develop a trilogy of standalone Batman films starring Affleck. Apparently, studio executives are so impressed by his performance as Bruce Wayne in Batman V Superman, that they are in the early stages of putting together a so-called “Golden Deal” that would extend Affleck’s contract to include a new batman trilogy.

Will there be a Hellboy 3….?

hellboy-ii-ron-perlmanHere is what Perlman offered on the subject of Hellboy 3, while he was promoting Hand of God during the 2015 Television Critics Association press tour (hat tip /Film):

“Let me make the record clear. I don’t want to do Hellboy 3. It’s a pain in the ass to put that makeup on and take it off. But I feel we’re obligated to finish the story. That’s it. End of conversation.”

“I got no problems with forcing the conversation, as you can tell. We’re in the business of moving mountains. Those of us who are used to working in mainstream film and television. Don’t come to me with details and problems. Just tell me how we move the mountain.”

The budget necessary to realize del Toro’s vision for Hellboy 3 is the biggest obstacle preventing the project from moving forward, as del Toro has noted before. Perlman’s age is something of an issue too, though the 65-year old actor has jokingly (?) said that so long as he’s still breathing, he’s game to play Big Red one last time:

“Because del Toro says: Put the makeup on, you can shoot me in a wheelchair and I’ll still be Hellboy. I guess the only cutoff point is when they actually close the box. If you don’t see me get up and go, ‘Hang on, I was kidding,’ then I’m still ready.”

Batman vs Superman – Woder Woman fight scene revealed…?

Wonder-Woman-Batman-V-Superman-Costume-SwordAccording to Heroic Hollywood, during Batman vs Superman – Wonder Woman suits up to do battle with none other than Doomsday, the infamous monster who killed Superman in the ’90s “Death of Superman” story arc, and his since become a staple of the DC Comics universe.
Here is the specific breakdown of Wonder Woman’s fight against Doomsday, as described by El Mayimbe of HH:
During the fight with Doomsday, Wonder Woman draws that awesome sword of hers, swings it at Doomsday and manages to chop off the hand of the beast!… Wonder Woman is badass and got skills but don’t count Doomsday out! He is still in the fight! Complications ensue because a BONE BLADE grows back where Doomsday’s hand used to be! In screenwriting that’s called a reversal. Now Doomsday got a blade of his own.

Transformers 5 update

new-transformers-4-age-of-extinction-wallpapers-characters-wallpapers1 (1)IGN caught up with DeKnight at the Television Critics Association press tour and managed to touch base with him on the experience of working in the Transformers 5 writers room, a structure usually reserved for television projects. Here’s what DeKnight had to say:

“It’s that wonderful thing where features are now taking a page from television and getting people together to really try and plan things out. It was a wonderful experience. Akiva Goldsman was fantastic and Jeff Pinkner, who’s co-writing the fifth [Transformers] movie with him was phenomenal. Zak Penn… It was just a room full of brilliant, funny, amazing people. And we spent two and a half weeks in physically the best writers room I’ve ever seen in my life. Paramount pulled out all the stops. It was phenomenal! We laughed and joked and told stories and plotted out… I can’t say what we plotted out, but it was all very exciting and in the next few months we’ll see what moves forward and what doesn’t move forward. But it was a fantastic experience. One of the best experiences of that was when Steven Spielberg popped by one afternoon to just sit and talk and hear what we were working on. Everybody was about to throw up, they were so excited.”

However, DeKnight isn’t quite sure exactly how the franchise will change going forward.

“It remains to be seen. I think the biggest
thing something like that does when you’re dealing with a franchise that is so global and makes so much money is actually taking a moment to really think things out. Because a lot of the times, you go into production, you don’t have a finished script or your script is still being worked on. And it’s very difficult to work that way. I can’t imagine… Especially with the second movie, when the writers strike happened and Michael Bay had to start prepping anyway, I can’t imagine trying to prep a movie of that size and complexity and not having a locked script. And it happens all the time in movies. You just have to start because of people’s availabilities. So my hats off to Paramount for trying something new in this way and really giving this writers room thing a spin. But for me, it was a fantastic experience. I loved it.”

Nicolas Cage talks Superman Lives Documentary

nicolas_cage_as_superman_by_brandtk-d66a2eoThough Tim Burton’s take on the Man of Steel never made it to production, a new supermn lives documentary The Death of ‘Superman Lives’: What Happened? reveals test footage of Cage in Burton’s version of the beloved costume. In an interview with Yahoo! Movies (about his upcoming starring role in The Runner), Cage offer his own thoughts on Burton’s canceled vision for the iconic DC Comics superhero Kal-El:

The only thing I’ll say about that — because that is such a lighting rod hot topic and if I say anything at all it just seems to snowball — but I will say that I had great belief in that movie and in what Tim Burton’s vision was going to be for that movie. I would’ve loved to have seen it, but I feel that in many ways, it was sort of a win/win because of the power of the imagination. I think people can actually see the movie in their minds now and imagine it and in many ways that might resonate more deeply than the finished project.

Cage expounded a bit on that point, when his interviewer noted that a lot of fans have indeed put together their own visions of what Superman Lives might’ve looked like:

Will there be an Age of Ultron Director’s cut…?

ultron avengers 2While at SDCC when asked if a directors cut of Age of Ultron would be coming soon director Josh Wheldon’s reply was rather definitive:

It has always been my ambition never to do a director’s cut of anything and always to make the movie with the studio that we both want to make. Ultron was very complex and there was a lot of back-and-forth. My instinct is no. Just as an artist, I’m super fucking lazy and that sounds like it would be hard. I don’t think there’s interest in it, right now. You’ll see a bunch of stuff on the DVD in extras that were meant to be there.

Green Lantern reboot ‘Green Lanter Corps’ update

1845561-green_lantern_corps1Speaking with Collider, Tyrese Gibson addressed his potential involvement with Green Lantern, and though he could not offer any concrete updates, other than he has discussed the possibility with the powers that be at WB:

“I’ve already had a couple of meetings at Warner Bros., so we’ll see what happens. I do believe that there needs to be more black superheroes out there, but that’s not even my motivation. I think I would be the best Green Lantern and based on my fans and supporters that spent around $6 billion in box office receipts, I feel like there’s a fanbase of fans out there waiting to see me put on this green suit and do my thing. So I would love to confirm something today but I can’t. We’ll just keep following up.”

X-Men & Fantastic Four Crossover Confirmed By Bryan Singer?

X-Men-Fantastic-Four-Crossover-Movie1-e1437681604655With the upcoming reboot of marvels first family and the better than expectaed box office performace of X-men days of future past along with the upcoming superhero crossover that will be Batman vs Superman it would not take a psychic to expect an x-men/fantastic four corssover film would soon be in development.

Here’s what director Bryan Singer now has to say about the two franchises crossing over, during and interview with Yahoo UK about the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rouge Cut:

“Those ideas are in play… That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it… It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Gal Gadot talks about Wonder Woman

Wonder-Woman-Batman-V-Superman-Costume-SwordSpeaking to Interview Magazine, Gadot teases what fans can expect from Diana in Dawn of Justice (and beyond), asserting there’s a difference between brute force and feminine strength in her Wonder Woman:

“I told them that I wanted to be able to show the stronger side of women. I didn’t want to do the obvious role that you see in Hollywood most of the time, which is the heartbroken girl who’s waiting to be rescued by the guy, blah, blah, blah.”

“I’m so excited about this role. I feel like I’ve been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There’s a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It’s going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood.”

League of Extrodinary Gentlemen reboot in the works

The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen was a very memorable film, for all the wrong reasons, as per usual upon release the film was blasted by Alan Moore the creator of the original graphic novel, the film bombed at the box office and led to the retirement of screen legend Sean Connery, who had chosen the film while passing on portraying the Architech in the Matrix movies.
Variety reports that John Davis and Davis Entertainment are producing, with Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly overseeing the remake at Fox. This new film is once again based on Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s comics, but we don’t know how faithful this one will be. I hesitate to say they couldn’t be much less faithful than the 2003 film, but that might be misinterpreted as a dare.
No writer has been revealed, so this could still be in pretty early stages.

Blade sequel coming soon…?

blade_01Speaking with Deadline at San Diego Comic-Con, Wesley Snipes confirmed that he has met with Marvel about Blade. While there are no details of that meeting, Snipes mentions that the ball is firmly in Marvel’s court.

“The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.”

“I’ve always been a fan of these pieces (of the new cenimatic universe) and(Marvel) adaptations and it’d be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t do a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful.”

Byran Singer gives details on X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men-ApocalypseBryan Singer spoke with Yahoo! Movies about X-men Apocalypse, stating that the movie contains real, global stakes that, when coupled with new treatments of mutant powers, make for some epic action sequences.

“[You will see] some images and treatments of X-Men powers you’ve never seen before and some action and some pretty epic scope and some pretty major stakes. Like global stakes.”

“These are very different characters than they were in the films X-Men 1, 2, and 3. They are at times in their lives when they are at the most opposite of what they would become. That’s a thrill to me, to take characters I crafted so many years ago and flip them completely on their side and show how they evolved and began.”

“The X-Men are sort of a fighting team, so it was always an attempt at being realistic to have them in fighting uniforms, flight suits, things like that. In ‘X-Men: First Class,’ which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics. I will say that in X-Men: Apocalypse, there is a chance -without giving anything away- that you may get closer to seeing what… you are interested in seeing. I know it’s something that I’ve been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way.”

Tilda Swinton confirmed as the Ancient One in Dr Strange movie

TildaSwintonAncientOneSpeaking with Screen Crush, Tilda Swinton confirmed that she and Marvel are past the talking stage and that the deal is finally done for her to play  The Ancient One next year in Dr Strange .

“… I just really liked the premise of this and the idea of playing this character. I’m a Marvel fan and I think this particular world that ‘Doctor Strange’ goes into is really, really, really exciting. I’m really interested as both an actor and a fan to see what’s done in this particular world. It’s all about creativity. It’s not about everything exploding at the end. It’s about something very different.”

Swinton wasn’t be phased by the multi-picture deal.

“It’s like a family thing. Who knows where one might pop up. I don’t know where they’ll use me and I don’t know that they know, necessarily, even though they seem to know what they’re doing for the next decade. I think it’s like holding onto the tail of a galloping horse at this point.”

The Ancient One in the comics is a Tibetan mystic who teaches Dr. Stephen Strange the mystic arts with the goal of training him to become the Sorcerer Supreme. The character is traditionally depicted as an old man, but Kevin Feige has already confirmed that they’re changing the origin story.

X-Men: Apocalypse Teaser Trailer Description

Image result for apocalypse x-menHere is a description of the footage of the X-Men: Apocalypse teaser trailer from SDCC

The footage begins with young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) having nightmares, visions of an apocalyptic future as Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) calms her down, reminding her that it’s just a dream. But it’s not.
We hear Apocalypse speak for the first time, reflecting on his long and storied, god-like history: “I’ve been called any things over many lifetimes, Ra, Krishna, Yahweh…”
Then we see Moira Mactaggart (Rose Byrne) who returns from X-Men: First Class speaking to Xavier: “Ever since the world found out about mutants there have been secret societies, cults, who see them as some kind of second coming or sign of god.” She’s been “tracking” the first of them (Apocalypse) and says “They believe that tens of thousands of years ago an ancient being was born. The world’s first…” Xavier interrupts and completes the sentence: “Mutant.”
Sizzle-reel style shots throughout the teaser of familiar characters including blue and non-blue Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Havok (Lucas Till) in the X-base, new Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) in costume, and young Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) featuring the same lines and design as the X-Men 2 version played by Alan Cumming.
Apocalypse voiceover continues throughout the teaser, and the rest of it goes like this:

“I was there to spark and fan the flame of man’s awakening. To spin the wheel of civilization…”

We see Magneto with old soldiers in the forest.

“You are all my children and you are lost, because you follow blind leaders…”

We see Apocalypse and Mohawk-rocking Storm enter what looks to be the underground lair of the Morlocks where a ragged Magneto (Michael Fassbender) stands with other mutants. Magneto turns and looks at Apocalypse and retorts “Who the f**k are you?” Apocalypse is there to recruit Magneto as one of his four horsemen and says “Come and see.”
More sizzle reel shots: Cyclops blasting at a roof, Quicksilver (Evan Peters) running super-speed through the halls of the X-base, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) in her actual comics costume.

We see Apocalypse and the four horsemen (Magneto, Storm, Angel, and Psylocke) in the X-base and Magneto lifts Professor X and his chair in the air and pulls it towards them with his powers. We see Mystique early in the footage, with a rocker leather jacket and later again, seemingly reuniting with Charles and saying “Mutants are being hunted,” but that she’s there to help, there to fight since there’s a storm approaching.

“What do you see?”

Professor X is using Cerebro, speaking about Apocalypse by saying “He can’t control all of us.” We see him potentially horrified and later when we’re back to this shot we see a tear roll down his face. The next shot of him with the Cerebro helmet sees his eyes turn black and he says “I’ve never felt power like this before.”

The final shot sees an X-base door open and James McAvoy finally has bald Xavier in the chair and wearing a nice suit. It then shows a close-up of him as he looks at the camera and fade to black.

Deadpool Comic-Con Trailer Description

deadpool-movie-filming-locationsHere’s a rundown of what was featured in the Deadpool Comic-Con trailer:
Wade Wilson (Reynolds) being told by his girlfriend Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin) that he can overcome his illness – to which Wade quipped, “You’re right. The cancer’s only in my liver, lungs, prostate, and brain. All things I can live without.”
To defeat his cancer, Wade enters something comparable to the Weapon X program (sans any government sponsorship), asking them to do right by him – and, in an obvious cheeky reference to the Reynolds-starring Green Lantern, to not make his new superhero outfit “Green… Or animated.”
Footage from the live-action version of the ‘leaked’ Deadpool test footage sequence (see: Wade killing mercenary types on the highway).
Colossus (massive and all CGI) knocking out Deadpool, who then calls his opponent a “big chrome ck-gobbler.”
Deadpool killing several armed thugs atop a highway overpass, before he meets Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) for the first time. His response upon learning her name: “What the s
t?! That’s the coolest name ever!”
In a bit of fourth-wall knocking, Deadpool says “Cue the music,” as a montage of ‘our hero’ acting badly (dancing in a strip club, having wild sex with Vanessa) follows.
Weasel (T.J. Miller) comments on Wade’s new appearance, with lines like “You look like an avocado that had sex with an older avocado.”
Deadpool, upon slaughtering more people, sniffs his guns and turns to the camera to declare: “I’m touching myself tonight.”

Jordan (Johnny Storm, Human Torch) and Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm, The Thing) said:

Jamie: He has a pretty decent part in this movie, for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re [Fox] teeing something up, maybe.

Mara: He definitely makes our lives difficult…

Jamie: …but in a kind of ambiguous way. He’s not a straight-up bad guy, he’s just kind of put in an awkward position.

For those who don’t know the Mole Man In the comics, is a man of high intellect who was shunned. He sought solitude in a rumored underground kingdom. In his pursuit to find it, he became trapped in a series of underground tunnels from where he launched attacks on the surface world.Based on the actors’ comments,it does not look as if Mole Man will appear in any major way in the first film, possibly a cameo or maybe an after or mid credits scene, but remember, Fantastic Four 2 is already slated for release on June 9, 2017.

venom-sinister-six-spider-man-spin-offsDue to a studio leak, The Daily Beast has revealed very strong evidence that an X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover is in the works – courtesy of an email written by Michael De Luca, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures, to Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal this past October. In the conversation, De Luca writes that he has learned directly from Simon Kinberg that Fox is working on an X-Men and Fantastic Four team-up movie, and suggests that Sony plan something similar with their SpiderMan property – namely linking together a new SpiderMan movie, the female-led SpiderMan movie, Venom, and Sinister Six for a “eventual mega movie.”

News update on Marvel’s plans for Spiderman

While promoting Ant-Man, Marvel Studios head hancho Kevin Feige addressed this issue, explaining to Zap2it just how the new Spider-Man movie will stand out from its predecessors and fit into the overarching MCU.

Spider-Man-Civil-WarThe biggest thing … is that it takes place in this universe. It’s the first time that you’ll be able to see Spider-Man like he was in the comics, as a very different type of hero when compared to the other heroes in the universe. Up until this point in the other Spidey films – some of which are some of the best superhero movies ever made – he was the only hero, and now he’s not. Now he’s a kid in Queens with these powers and has other [superheroes] to look to.

Does he want to be like these other characters? Does he want nothing to do with these other characters? How does that impact his experience, being this grounded but super powerful hero? Those are all the things that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko played with in the first 10 years of his comics, and that now we can play with for the first time in a movie.

Ant-Man opens in theaters July 17, 2015; Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016; Doctor Strange– November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man reboot – July 28, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Black Panther – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – November 2, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; Inhumans – July 12, 2019.

So much revealed in the newest Batman vs Superman trailer from SDCC!!!

Lex Luther, Wonder Woman in action! Kryptonite!  Batman and Superman fight scenes!  The Joker revealed (sort of) General Zod revelaed (dead but he’s in there)  check out the new trailer!!

Fantastic Four will NOT be in 3D… sorry…

Fantastic-Four-Reboot-Promo-Team-Photo-TextlessFox has now confirmed that the film will only be Fantastic in 2D.

According to Final Reel the plans for a 3D release of Fantastic Four have been officially scrapped by the studio. They received an official statement on the topic from director Josh Trank as well.
I want the viewing experience of Fantastic Four to remain as pure as possible for the audience, which means in 2D, just as we shot the movie.

Why the ending of Man of Steel was a perfect beginning for Batman vs Superman

batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-done-filming-570x294By the end of Steel much of Metropolis is destroyed and obviously thousands of innocent civilians are dead. And now as revealed in the newest Batman vs Superman trailer courtesy of SDCC we know that Bruce Wayne aka batman was in fact in Metropolis when the destruction happened. (And that Lex Luther has captured with dead body of General Zod)

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly Snyder said that the consequences of the battle were the whole point and that he was shocked at the reaction the ending received.
I was surprised because that’s the thesis of Superman for me, that you can’t just have superheroes knock around and have there be no consequences.

Now we understand that obviously those “consequences” are the main motivation behind Batman’s desire to take down Superman in the upcoming sequel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Henry Cavill talk about Batman vs superman

MTV got the chance to ask Cavill if he had seen more of the film – and whether it was still accurate to call the story “a Superman sequel” – the actor confirmed what many fans have come to accept:

“I’ve only seen a little bit of ADR stuff, but that’s it, and that wasn’t even in color… I’m hoping to see it some time this year, for a friends and family screening or something. But I really know nothing about what the finished product looks like.“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman vs. Superman, so it’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It’s an introduction to the character, and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”“From what I understand now, it’s no longer like, ‘This is Superman 2.’ They’re not doing these things. They’re doing like, ‘Here’s Man of Steel. Here’s Batman/Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The next one is not like a sequel to one of the characters. They’re just going to keep building their universe for about five or six movies. But all of them, it’s supposed to tell one massive story, which is all Justice League oriented.”

the Crow reboot will be “brutal” says director

The Crow is one of my all time favorite movies.  Not only was it the first real comic book adaptions that stayed true to its source material, it was also the first and only testament to the raw and until then unvetted acting ability of the late, Brandon Lee.  However the remainder of the built-upon franchise, while (barely) watchable, all of the  sequels, in spite of keeping with the basic concept, if only in a remedial sense, were disappointing.Except for the tv series Stairway to Heaven it showed potential but was cancelled to early
So when rumor started flowing about a reboot, I was not only shocked but also very unhappy and nervous as to what the next attempt would be, and how true it would be in regards to James O’barr’s graphic novel masterpiece.I am excited to say that the director Corin Hardy, when interviewed by Fangoria during the sundance film festival, basically took the words right out from my mouth, in expressing his sincerest desire to remain as true to form….“I was obsessed with ‘The Crow’ when I was growing up….. And now that I have gotten the chance to do it, I’m very much going back to the graphic novel, particularly looking into the illustrations themselves as much as the story, and picking out all those beautiful ideas and details that haven’t really been used yet.  I intend it to be incredibly emotional and brutal,  I want to make a movie that I would have wanted to see, as a huge fan of ‘The Crow.’ “

Guillermo Del Toro to direct a Star Wars anthology film?

Jabba's_daisYahoo news met with Guillermo Del Toro during SDCC where the famed fantasy scifi director pitched an anthology story that fleshed out the story of Jabba The Hutt’s rise throughout the criminal underworld of the Star Wars saga.  Said the director,
I would do the sort of Godfather saga that Jabba the Hutt had to go through to gain control. One, because it’s the character that looks the most like me, and I like him. I love the idea of a Hutt type of mafia, a very complex coup. I just love the character.

While he stressed that the ideal was unofficial we can certianly hope and wait.

Star Wars tv cable channel coming soon?!

When asked about what the chances are of Disney creating its own streaming service (via Daily Finance), Disney CEO Bob Iger commented that there might be something in the works for platforms solely dedicated to Star Wars and Marvel.

In his words:
We have said that with these channels and these brands — ESPN, ABC, Disney, maybe even down the road something related to Star Wars and Marvel — we do have an ability as a company to take product, specifically filmed entertainment, television, movies, directly to consumers.

X-Men: Apocalypse Will Change The Universe

IGN caught up with Days of Future Past writer/producer Simon Kinberg and asked him exactly how X-Men: Apocalypse will connect to the other two X-Men films hitting theaters in 2016, namely Deadpool and Gambit. Here’s what Kinberg had to say:

“Things that happen in one film are acknowledged by the other movies. The result of the aftermath of ‘Apocalypse’ is something that will impact the course of history in the world in much the same way that the end of ‘Days of Future Past’ did. From 1973 forward, the world knew about mutants. A mutant took a football stadium and dropped it on the White House. That’s not the history we were raised on. So, instead of ignoring it, all of the movies that come after that in the timeline acknowledge it and embrace it, and it becomes part of the complicated reality of ‘X-Men’ history on film.”

Fantastic Four opens on August 7, 2015, Deadpool on February 12, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, Gambit on October 7, 2016, Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3, 2017, Fantastic Four 2 on June 9, 2017, and an undisclosed X-Men film on July 13, 2018.

Avengers: Infinity War Thanos news

images (7)garding the upcoming 2 part film series Avengers: Infinity War

Joss Whedon spoke with Vulture recently about the role of Thanos so far in the MCU and how he’s (obviously) not going to be alone.

“A lot of people were surprised that Thanos wasn’t the villains in Avengers 2, but he was never meant to be. He was always meant to be the puppet-master until he was done doing that, and then he’ll be the big villain they face off with. Not solely – I’m sure there’ll be plenty more [villains] in that monstrous epic, because one thing Marvel doesn’t do is string a story out into two movies that shouldn’t be two movies. They’ll give you two big movies. I feel like we got two movies into this one!”
